DSHell
After 120 hours or so without DSL service, whatever issue that caused the initial outage has apparently been fixed. The Newted Community is back online. This server is back online. All of my hostees are probably breathing a bit easier. Thanks to my ISP (and no thanks to my telco) for kicking the right amount of ass to get this issue resolved, finally.
So what happened?
Sometime Tuesday afternoon, in the process of upgrading my DSL to a faster service, Telus managed to screw up both the network connection and my home phone service. I immediately opened urgent trouble tickets with both my ISP and Telus, and then sat and waited for a resolution.
Please note that this outage does not impact any associated email accounts, as they are hosted at a different location.
Once again, my apologies to all those folks who rely of their Newted Community accounts. Unfortunately, these things happen. Thankfully, not that often.
