Homeland secrutiny.
Would you care to consider a little constructive photocultural legislation jamming? Of course you would. February 1st has been unofficially declared National ‘Photography in the Age of Homeland Security’ Day by concerned citizen Cheri Smithson. She has been continually frustrated by the artistic community’s lack of social commentary and reaction to the increasingly restrictive photographic environment south of the 49th parallel. Residing in Canada currently exempts me from this particular dough-headed governmental nonsense, but everyone knows that things can change. Take some photos, document your experience and tell Cheri all about it. Hey, what’s the worst thing that could possibly happen?
