1,700 iterations of whatever.
Four years ago today, I began to type a sporadic stream of hopefully interesting snippets into a service called Blogger, subsequently publishing them on this site. That was over 1,700 snippets ago. It was a significant change in direction for me, that is, to write and publish something on a almost daily basis. A good change, almost cathartic in fact. That additional element of self-reflecting content transformed this site from being little more than a small slice of webcam-enabled ether into something with tooth and opinion and snarky personality. It now emitted a bit more editorial oomph, as it were. However, I’ll stop short of saying that four years ago my site turned into a weblog, since I tend to agree with what Todd Dominey wrote on this subject last Friday. This place too, has always been a website first and a webcam, weblog, link page, gallery, whatever — second. Here’s to the next four years and 1,700 iterations of whatever. Stick around, I’m pretty sure I’m still up for it.
