So, is a new version of Microsoft Office for Mac on its way, or not? Everyone’s favorite bloatware manufacturer backpeddles after prematurely releasing information about the next big thing on its Mactopia site. Scariest potential new feature? “Word-like” editing using a new integrated email client. This is what I have been waiting for, software that makes it more difficult to send email by encrusting a basic text editing environment with crap like grammatical syntax auto-correction and animated “would you like help composing a message to Bob?” wizards. How much more can they add to an integrated software package before it becomes the executable equivalent to Amazon’s tabbed navigation-fest?
