Usenet is dead. Long live Usenet.

Those supamonstermacheads over at the mighty Panic have unleased a brand new OS X application called Unison which looks like it actually makes the Usenet usable again. Gosh, I’m feeling all 1993 again. Sniff.

Several things that need mentioning.

Quite a few items have caused my ears to perk up recently, but dagnabbit if I don’t have the time to properly comment on them. So here I sit, attempting to post at least a short little blurb about each them so, at the very least, I can refer back them at some point in … More

The bold and the feckless.

I’ll admit to considering some Adobe typefaces to be of questionable aesthetic value and still others as downright fugly. But, I don’t think I have ever run across an Adobe font that’s been annoying.

Curiously found mints.

Well, they’re not actually mints… they’re better than mints. I realize that not all of these potential candidates will have the same mass appeal as your current selection of peppermint, spearmint, wintergreen or cinnamon. However, I think that some of … More

Baked Panther Tognazzini.

I like Bruce Tognazzini. I respect Bruce Tognazzini. He knows what he’s talking about, and he’s usually talking about user interfaces. It’s no secret that user interfaces are something that I thoroughly enjoy talking about myself. Well, it just so happens that Mr Tog has written three new articles relating to Panther and it’s experience-related … More

Molasses in January.

Yes, the old blog-stream is moving a might slow at the moment. But, it’s only relative when you look at it in the right perspective. You see, if work wasn’t keeping me so interested and otherwise occupied, I’d be blogging more here. Of course, part of what makes work so interesting and occupying is my … More

Animal cruelty.

Since becoming a dog owner (and apparently an official doorman to all quadrupedal mammalian lifeforms that happen to frequent our household), I must admit that I have become more sensitive to how animals are treated and respected as pets. It’s one thing to want to celebrate and document your pet by having a professional photographer … More
